Lately, it’s not rare to read here and there about the worldwide expansion of Asian cosmetics, and more commonly those coming from South Korea. But what is the key of such a success?
First of all, keep in mind that Korean women are just not joking when it comes to pamper their skin. While in Europe, our morning and night beauty routines are consisting in the use of at most one or two products, Korean women are using five to six products, and even sometimes, different ones depending on if they are used in the morning or the evening! With this information in hand, we totally understand that Korean women know what and definitely without having to break the bank. That’s why, to answer to Korean women high demand, Korean cosmetic brands are engaged in an intense competition creating premium products while offering them at affordable prices.
In addition of being very high quality products, Korean cosmetics are all more innovative in order to fulfil Korean women, very demanding in terms of results. While BB and CC creams have revolutionized the beauty industry, famous brands such as Lancôme, Estee Lauder or Chanel got largely inspired by them and have created their own versions. The Korean cosmetic industry is at the forefront of innovation, upsetting the traditional beauty products we use with highly sophisticated cosmetic novelties such as the cushion cream or hydro-gel masks.
Also, Korean cosmetic brands rely fully on natural ingredients like aloe vera, bamboo or ginseng, or on more innocuous ingredients such as pork collagen or bird’s nest (yes, that what I said, bird nest!). The use of harsh chemicals is banned replace by the use of natural ingredients bringing better results to beautify the skin.
Finally, I keep the best for last: the aesthetics of the product. This is the little extra for visual delight, the icing on the cake! Because using cosmetics that have a sleek, cute or trendy design every day it’s more fun, right? Well, it is true that there is something for everyone and that’s what I love!
